Physical activity through sports and games is an essential component of school life for every student. We believe that academics and sports are compatible and complementary in realising the child’s full potential. Activities on the playing field develop qualities of teamwork, leadership, dedication, discipline, self-confidence and self-esteem. Sports equip students with skills that help shape their lifestyle and enable them to face the challenges of an increasingly competitive world.
GGS is happy to be a part of the Fit India Movement, a movement to take the nation on a path of fitness and wellness. It provides a unique and exciting opportunity to work towards a healthier India. As part of the movement, individuals and organisations can undertake various efforts for their own health and well-being as well as for the health and well-being of fellow Indians.
Certification and Evidence of the successful programme

Early years and Primary grades The joy of sport and development of basic motor skills is the focus of the physical education programme. As students’ progress through higher grades, they are introduced to a higher level of skill-based programmes and competitive sports. Students who develop a passion for sport and acquire a level of skill are encouraged to join competitive teams that practice outside of the physical education programme with a higher level of commitment, discipline and skill required.

Recreational sports Students who wish to participate in activities beyond the physical education curriculum can join a variety of recreational sports and activities that take place as an After-School Programme (ASP). To accommodate day students’ needs the school does offer some limited transportation for the After School Programme.

Competitive sports Genesis has a vibrant competitive sports programme that requires considerable commitment on the part of students and parents. Athletes must attend morning practices that focus on skill development, team play, tactics and strategy. After school hours, competitive athletes are required to participate in a personal fitness or sport-specific fitness programme overseen by a Fitness Specialist.
Genesis teams participate in friendly matches, in regional tournaments and frequently attend national level competitions.Sports offering varies based on demand and faculty interest however common sports include; cricket, tennis, equestrian, football, swimming, badminton, basketball, gymnastics, squash, table tennis, fencing, karate, fitness, yoga, shooting and adventure activities such as wall climbing and low roads.
