Community Service

Service to community is one of the pillars on which we have laid the strong foundation of Genesis Global School. As an integral part of the school, children are encouraged to help other children and people in their immediate surroundings while also trying to do their bit for the Environment as a whole. Young volunteers learn to respect others, learn to be helpful and kind, and learn to understand people who are different. It develops in them leadership skills, helps them to become more patient and gives them a better understanding of citizenship.

When children volunteer in schools they become life-long community servers. The society gains people who care about where they live and are willing to make a commitment to improvement.

Service to a fellow human being is considered the greatest of all services and GGS believes that our scholars must step into the world as sensitive people who can give more to society than they receive.

Junior School

Scholars of Grades 1 and 2 interact with the Sai Shiksha Sansthan: This school was started by the Founder of Bal Kuteer home. Here the residents of Bal Kuteer home study along with the children of the Wazirpur village at a subsidize fees.

Grade 3 provides service to Ruhi foundation: This is an educational institute run in memory of late the Dr. Ruhi who died in a road accident. Here GGS scholars interact with peers of their age group and work on activity sheets relevant to their syllabus.

Grade 4 supports Apna Ghar: A school for underprivileged run by a welfare society. They are given free education in the most modern methods. They also run open school classes.

Grades 5 works with MBCN: A special school for the differently abled children of the NCR area. Here these children are given education and vocational skills absolutely free of cost.

Middle School

Community Service is an important part of a Middle School scholar’s curriculum. They learn to be more compassionate and understanding. They can now see that they actually make a difference with the service they provide. Working within the community, makes them more responsible and it also creates a sense of pride in them when they see what they’ve done is actually helping others.

The Following projects are taken up in The Middle School:

Grade 6 – ‘ PROJECT DOSTI’

The scholars of grade 6 visit ‘Apna Ghar’ a school for underprivileged run by a welfare society. Where children are given free education in the most modern method. The institute also runs open school classes. GGS scholars interact with students and help them in academics as well as in various co-curricular activities.

The scholars of grade 7 work with neighbouring Government schools like those in Wazirpur and Rohillapur where they lend support to students of these schools in academics. They also spend time together teaching songs and playing games with their friends. GGS scholars are also encouraged to donate things that students may need at these schools. The scholars work together in trying to help provide a better quality of education and life to their friends. They learn that “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

The scholars of grade 8 work with ‘BAL ASHRAY’, an NGO supporting Childline. They shelter children from various organizations and reunite them with their families. Some children are also sent to hostels for rehabilitation. Scholars work in groups, teaching and conducting various activities that make learning fun. Scholars also help clean the Home, paint walls so that the ‘Ashray’ has a welcoming ambience for the children. They share with their friends things that may be needed to make their stay more comfortable.

Senior School

  • Bhaagidaari: Scholars work with less privileged children of government schools in the neighbouring villages Wazirpur and Rohillapur. They spend time teaching these scholars and discussing with them various social issues.
  • Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission: Senior school scholars spend time at this home for destitute boys and teach these boys computer skills.
  • Welfare Home for Children: Here they work with abandoned children, teaching them to read with the help of flash cards and have also taught them poems.
  • Disha: In this programme they reach out to migrant labour in the area to help eradicate illiteracy, child labour and identify the disabled and non-school going children. Here our scholars organised a Tree Plantation Drive and will be conducting a Medical Camp soon.
